Construction Progress/Schedules:

(updated on 4/19/18)
Due to the snowfall last week, construction has been delayed until the week of 4/23.

The main objective in Stage 1 of the project will be relocating utilities. Several fiber, gas, phone and power companies are coordinating efforts to make this project stage move as smoothly as possible.

Traffic Control Changes: (all dates subject to change)

  • Right Lane Closures on CH 83: On Monday 4/2, we will have the right lane closed for both the north and southbound lanes, we anticipate these lanes to remain closed for the duration of the project to maintain a safe work zone
  • 4th Avenue will reamain open until late May/Early June

This project will reconstruct the CH 83 and 4th Avenue intersection to add turn lanes, raised center concrete median, shoulders, trails, and install conduit for a future traffic signal. The project will also reduce direct private driveway access onto CH 83 by relocation of driveways to city streets.

Purpose & Justification

The purpose of this project is to provide safety and operational efficiency to the intersection, improving pedestrian and traffic flow through the CH 83 and 4th Avenue Corridors.
