Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

COVID-19 Update 7/17/20: Interlibrary loan services will resume statewide on July 20th. Please be patient as Minnesota libraries tackle a backlog of requests and make sure that items are returned safely to their home libraries. Some libraries are not yet participating - see the MNLink website for more information. You will also notice that you'll be able to request fewer items.

Interlibrary Loan allows you to request items not owned by Scott County Library. It is used for materials published at least six months ago.

For new items published within the last twelve months, you may suggest a title. We appreciate suggestions, even if we are unable to add the suggested title. We'll let you know either way.

Requesting Items through Interlibrary Loan

An interlibrary loan request can be placed using MNLINK (Minnesota Library Information Network). Just follow the steps below, or contact your local library for assistance:
  1. First verify Scott County Library does not own the item by searching the catalog
  2. Go to the MNLINK website
  3. Click 'Login' in the right corner to sign in using your library card barcode number and pick up location. When entered, select 'Login'
  4. Find the item you want by searching the MNLINK Catalog. You can filter by material type by using the tabs above the search box.
  5. Click on 'Get It' and 'Submit' your request.
You may have up to 5 active interlibrary loan requests at any one time, including titles being ordered, checked out, and returned. There are some limits on what may be requested. For assistance using MNLINK, contact your local library or call Library Administration at 952-496-8010.
