We are now accepting appointments for additional services in the Deputy Registrar office. See below for a comprehensive list. Please be aware we are not accepting appointments for tab renewals at this time. These will continue to be done via drop box. Should you need to speak with a representative about other options, please call 952-496-8432.
You may make an appointment if your transaction is one of the following:
- Vehicle transfer
- Duplicate title
- Lien release
- Name change on title
- Special plate application or transfer
- Specialty registration such as farm quarters, high/low, partial pay
- Disability certificates or plates

COVID-19 Status Update - 6/3/2020 4:00 PM
Scott County Customer Service is now accepting appointments for driver’s license and identification card transactions only. This includes renewals, duplicates for address changes, lost or stolen licenses, upgrades to Real or Enhanced DL/IDs. Please click here for more details!
All other services such as tabs, title transfers, disability certificates, duplicate titles, and other deputy registrar services will continue to be offered through the drop boxes or mail. We are also able to accept applications for marriage licenses via email, fax, mail, or drop box. Please ensure that all transactions left in the drop boxes have a phone number enclosed. Requests will be processed within 48 hours and returned via mail.

per M.S. 169.798 Subd. 4;
Every owner, when applying for motor vehicle or motorcycle registration, reregistration, or transfer of ownership, must provide information showing that the motor vehicle or motorcycle is covered by an insurance policy. Information required under this subdivision consists of the insurance company's name, the policy number, and the policy expiration date for the subject motor vehicle or motorcycle.

Motor Vehicle Titles
A certificate of title is proof of ownership. You may transfer the title of a vehicle at either of the Scott County service centers. If a vehicle is purchased through a licensed Minnesota dealer, the dealer will take care of the transfer paperwork.

Personalized or Special Plates
Personalized plates are available with the standard plate background for passenger automobiles and pick-up trucks with up to seven (7) characters, including spaces.

Tabs (Registration)
Your tabs or registration stickers expire each year and must be renewed. The expiration month is shown on the sticker on the lower left corner of the plate, and the expiration year is shown on the sticker on the lower right corner of the plate. You do have until the end of the month shown to purchase registration.
