To apply for a Notary commission license with Scott County, you must 1) be a Scott County resident and 2) you must have been approved and received your commission from the Minnesota Secretary of State.

You may file in person or file by mail, drop box, or standby line.

- Print and complete Scott County's Notary Signature Form (PDF). Have you signatures notarized by a different notary.
- Mail a copy of your commission card, Notary Signature Form, and payment to:

Acceptable proof of identity includes:
- Current driver’s license
- Current state issued identification card
- Current passport
- Naturalization certificate
Cost
Notary registration can be done for a fee of $20. You can pay with cash, check (payable to Scott County) or credit card. If you pay with a credit card you will be paying a 2.45% convenience fee.
