Scott County Library loves volunteers!  If you're looking for a long-term, recurring volunteer position in a library we can use people who can assist in a variety of roles including computer aides, shelf readers and assisting with special events.

Please call the branch manager at the library where you are looking to volunteer to see if there is an opportunity available for you. You will need to register with Scott County and go through a volunteer orientation session if you are going to volunteer long term.

A variety of additional volunteer opportunities throughout Scott County can be found at Scott Volunteers.

Our libraries use volunteers ages 12 and up during the summer to help with the library’s summer reading program and events. Volunteers typically work 15-30 hours over the 9 weeks of the summer reading program. Contact your local library in early April for more information.

Experienced summer volunteers are also eligible to serve on the Library's Teen Advisory Board (TAB), which hosts events and raises money during the school year. If you volunteered at the Scott County Library this summer and want to receive a TAB application or more information, contact our Youth Staff
