COVID-19 Update: Thanks for thinking of us! At this time, Scott County Library cannot accept and process donations. Check back at a future date to learn when we can resume donations.
Donating Materials to the Library
We accept small donations of gently used books, CDs, and DVDs at any time. We do not accept textbooks, encyclopedias, or magazines.
If you have more than a few items to donate please call the library to see if they have room to accept them before you bring them.
What do we do with the donations?
Most of them are sold in book sales to raise funds for library programs or added to the collection (items in poor condition or containing outdated information may be discarded).
Author Donations
Authors wishing to donate original work should contact their local library for more information.
Other Donations
You can contribute smaller monetary donations at your library. For larger donations (money or other), please contact the branch manager at the library. The branch manager is also the person to contact if you wish to give a gift in someone's memory.
Donation Alternatives
Some alternatives to donating to the library include charities and thrift stores which accept book, video, and/or CD donations.
Select hospitals, care facilities and medical offices may accept magazine donations.
